How to Connect Trendsi to Shopify: Beginner Setup Guide

Documentation checked 5 October 2026. The menu paths below come from published help pages; labels can change. We have not completed a firsthand integration or sample-order test.

To connect Trendsi to Shopify, create your store, connect the Trendsi account or app, add a small clothing collection, and check shipping and supplier payment before taking orders. This walkthrough is for your first store and focuses on the checks that product importing alone does not finish.

If you are still choosing a customer or supplier, use the beginner launch guide and Trendsi suitability review. The free checklist works before you have an account.

1. Create Shopify and Trendsi accounts

Start Shopify through the trial above, then review the business location, currency and contact details. Trial access gives you time to build; review the current plan requirements before selling. Shopify’s trial guide explains the distinction.

Create or open your Trendsi account. Choose products for your intended destination and review membership terms. Products and delivery are paid separately from the membership; include both in your startup budget.

2. Connect the correct Shopify store

Trendsi documents two connection routes: follow the store-connection process during signup, or install the Trendsi app from the Shopify App Store. Its help page also lists Account → Connected Stores → Add New Shopify Store for an account not yet connected.

  1. Check that the Shopify store you authorize is the store you intend to build.
  2. Review the app’s permissions and any charges shown during installation.
  3. Return to Trendsi and confirm that the intended store appears as connected.

If the interface differs, follow the linked current connection instructions. A connected account is the first step; it does not establish that your products or checkout are ready.

3. Add a small collection as drafts

Use a few products you can review individually. Trendsi’s import instructions describe Add → Add to Shopify, selection of a manual Shopify collection, a product status of Active or Draft, and your selling price. Choose Draft while checking listings. A Trendsi collection used for organizing imports is different from a customer-facing Shopify collection.

After import, confirm the products appear in Shopify with the expected sizes, colors and inventory assignment. The inventory-location documentation explains the default Trendsi location. Review it before changing locations for another integration or your own stock.

4. Review prices, measurements and updates

Trendsi’s price rules apply to new imports. The documentation says an existing imported product’s price must be adjusted in Shopify or changed by re-importing. A supplier’s suggested resale price is a starting reference, not a calculation of your margin.

Use the order-cost calculator with actual product and shipping costs. Then check each listing’s measurements, materials, images, variants and destination delivery information. Keep unknown fit or fabric quality out of your product claims.

Automatic product updates do not refresh every listing field. Review change notices and confirm your descriptions, photos and existing prices remain accurate.

5. Set the delivery market and shipping rates

Get a current product and basket quote from Trendsi’s shipping information. In Shopify, review Settings → Shipping and delivery. Check the product’s shipping profile, location, destination zone and checkout rate. Shopify’s shipping-zone instructions also explain that a country must belong to an active market.

Compare what the supplier charges with what your customer pays. If delivery is included in the retail price, show how you cover it in your cost model. Check both a single garment and a mixed basket; multiple locations or profiles can affect the rate shown at checkout.

6. Check supplier payment before accepting orders

Trendsi’s order guide describes manual checkout as the account default. Check Account → Orders → Unpaid for supplier orders needing payment. For Auto Checkout, it lists Account → Settings → Order Management. Review the saved setting and payment method you intend to use.

Unpaid orders do not reserve stock. The same guide warns that manually using Shopify’s “Order Fulfillment” control can interrupt synchronization. Check the integration’s instructions before overriding its fulfillment workflow.

Decide who checks exceptions each day: an unpaid supplier order, failed payment, missing synchronization or unavailable variant. Keep cash available while customer payouts are pending.

7. Review the storefront and test checkout

Check mobile navigation, size choices, collections, contact details, delivery information and return instructions. Your retail policy needs to work alongside the supplier’s conditions; read the return decision section before opening checkout.

Shopify’s test-order guide describes simulated payments and says a paid plan is needed to test a payment gateway. Before a practice or manual order, check Trendsi’s automatic payment and fulfillment settings so the exercise does not unintentionally trigger a real supplier order. A simulated payment does not establish garment quality or physical delivery.

Before accepting customers, turn off payment test mode, confirm the chosen plan and check storefront access. Review the launch checklist and publish only products and destinations you can support.
