Your starting path
Your next three tasks
You already have a store or trial. Continue in that account and review its current billing terms; you do not need a second account for this plan.
Considering Trendsi for catalog clothing? Read the Shopify and Trendsi setup guide after checking your product and destination fit.
This is a planning aid, not a store approval, independent supplier test or promise of sales. Read the full launch checklist before accepting orders.
Four ways to start a clothing store
How you source the clothes changes the work ahead. These paths remain available without completing the planner.
Catalog dropshipping
Choose existing supplier garments and have the supplier fulfill orders. Start with customer fit, destination terms and the full cost of one order.
Read the online clothing-store guidePrint on demand
Apply your artwork to a provider’s available garments. Check artwork rights, print and garment details, destination costs and returns.
Compare print on demand and dropshippingOwn-label or original garments
Private label and original development involve different levels of control and preparation. Work through specifications, quotes, minimum quantities and approvals.
Read the clothing-brand guideStill choosing
Define one customer and occasion, compare sourcing routes and set a spending limit. An undecided answer is a reason to research before committing.
Explore the clothing modelsExample: a first catalog clothing store
Fictional starting point: a founder wants to sell catalog clothing to US shoppers seeking weekday outfits. They have set aside cash but have not priced the store costs, have an unverified supplier shortlist and have not opened Shopify.
The planner puts research first. Their next three tasks are:
- Work out the cash they can commit, including supplier payments and refunds.
- Check one supplier and one product for the intended destination.
- Price one realistic order using their own figures.
A different set of answers produces a different sequence. Reviewing these tasks does not prove demand, garment quality or supplier eligibility.
How your starting path is chosen
This is a rules-based tool, not AI scoring or a live supplier search. It uses only the answers you select; it does not inspect your store, check inventory, confirm a budget or contact a supplier.
Unresolved decisions come first: clothing model, customer, delivery country, budget, garment development and supplier checks. The first three priorities are shown. When fewer are unresolved, order-cost and storefront tasks fill the remaining places.
A catalog or print-on-demand answer can lead to a store-draft path when you report a clear customer, a named market, reviewed costs and reviewed supplier terms. Own-label answers lead to development planning. An existing Shopify account leads back to your existing setup; the planner does not ask you to create another.
A supplier review is self-reported, and we have not placed sample orders. No revenue, ranking, launch date or eligibility is predicted. Country selection never automatically endorses Trendsi or any other supplier.
Before you use your plan
Do I need a Shopify store already?
No. This planner is designed for people researching how to start an online clothing store. If you already have a store or trial, choose that answer to receive a continuation path.
Can I start with no money allocated?
You can use the planner and free guides while researching. The no-cash answer prioritizes a spending plan before starting a trial or taking orders. Dropshipping can avoid holding bulk stock, but it does not remove supplier payments and operating costs.
Does choosing a country mean Trendsi can ship there?
No. Check the supplier’s current destination list, product warehouse, delivery charges and return conditions. The result is a research path, not a coverage check.
Can I keep my answers?
Save the text plan or print the page after generating your result. The tool does not store answers or put them in the URL. Editing an answer hides the old result until you build an updated plan.
