Judge.me for Clothing Stores: Setup and Honest Review Guide

Judge.me collects and displays customer reviews on a Shopify store. For a new clothing dropshipping store, set up an honest review process before your first orders. Start with accurate garment details and policies, then request feedback from customers who have actually received their purchase.
Start a Shopify trial when you are ready to build your store. Check the current offer and regular billing terms. Review collection is an optional part of store setup, with its own settings and possible costs.
Affiliate disclosure: we may earn a commission through Shopify or Trendsi links at no extra cost to you. The Shopify App Store source link below also uses our affiliate link.
What should a clothing store show with no reviews?
A new store can have no customer reviews yet. Do not invent reviews, names, photographs, order counts or star ratings to fill the space. Preview your theme's empty review state and remove any demonstration testimonials before publishing.
Give shoppers information you can support now: product-specific measurement charts with units, fabric and care details where documented, clear shipping and returns pages, and a working contact route. A review app cannot supply missing product facts or verify a supplier's quality.
If you are considering Trendsi account options, use the connection guide and supplier evaluation guide first. Choose garments and destinations based on their actual information rather than promises of universally fast shipping or consistent fit.
Judge.me free plan versus Awesome
On the date above, the official Judge.me App Store listing shows Forever Free at no app charge and Awesome at US$15 per month. The free plan includes product reviews, photo/video reviews, the Review Widget and Star Rating Badge. Awesome adds features including advanced collection, AI tools and Google Shopping. Check the current listing and approval screen before choosing a plan.
For a beginner, our suggested approach is to configure the basic workflow first and pay only when a specific feature solves an identified need. A free review app does not cover your Shopify subscription, products, shipping, refunds or marketing. Use the cost calculator to include any recurring app charge in your store budget.
Install Judge.me and configure the review display
Follow Judge.me's getting-started instructions for the current widget setup. The Review Widget shows reviews; the Star Rating Badge shows an average rating. Theme support and placement need checking on your own storefront.
- Review the installation screen: confirm the intended store, permissions and selected plan. Our Shopify App Store guide explains the general installation checks.
- Place the product widget: follow the app's theme instructions and inspect its position beside the actual garment details. Check every product template you use.
- Inspect the rating display: check product and collection pages for duplicate badges, misleading empty stars or leftover demo content.
- Configure collection and moderation: review request timing, sender details and publication settings before saving. Complete the launch checks below.
If you have no store yet, build your draft store on Shopify and prepare its product pages. Judge.me is a review tool, not a prerequisite for choosing your first niche or supplier.
Request reviews after the customer has the garment
Judge.me's automatic request documentation covers order-event triggers, delays and domestic/international schedules. Confirm the options available in your plan and store. Fulfilled does not mean delivered: a request based on fulfillment needs a delay that accounts for the actual shipping route.
- Identify the route: record the product's processing and transit information for your intended destination. Do not reuse one delay across materially different routes without checking it.
- Choose the supported trigger: if using delivery-based timing, confirm that the plan and tracking data support it. Otherwise allow for delivery before requesting product feedback.
- Leave time to try the garment: choose a delay appropriate to what you are asking. Do not request a washing or wear assessment before someone could reasonably provide it.
- Check the message: verify sender, language, product link, unsubscribe behavior and handling of canceled or unresolved orders. Keep support contact details easy to find.
For Trendsi-sourced clothing, confirm the exact item's route and order status. Judge.me request settings do not create a delivery guarantee. Adjust timing when you have actual order evidence rather than treating an estimate as a result.
Imported reviews and verified badges need context
Judge.me's spreadsheet import guidance says those imports are not marked verified. Its separate verification guidance explains eligible collection and supported migration methods. Do not assume every import earns a verified badge or that every verification method proves purchase of that exact garment.
Our suggested migration record includes the original source, permission to reuse, original date, product identity and available purchase evidence. Keep genuine reviews attached to the correct product. Feedback about another seller's service should not become a testimonial about your new store. Do not copy supplier or competitor reviews merely to populate empty widgets.
Ask for useful feedback without steering the rating
These are sample prompts, not customer reviews we have collected. Invite honest answers and make photographs and personal measurements optional.
- Fit and sizing
- “Which size did you order, and how did it compare with this garment's measurement chart?” A customer's usual size alone cannot establish fit for another shopper.
- Fabric and use
- “What did you notice about the fabric, comfort or care after trying it?” Leave room for drawbacks; do not suggest that it must feel premium.
- Delivery and support
- “Did the order arrive as described, and was any help needed?” Keep store-service feedback distinct from the garment's characteristics.
Judge.me documents automatic publication by default and manual moderation options in its publishing guidance. Review these settings deliberately. Our editorial recommendation is to publish valid feedback regardless of rating, handle spam or private information with a recorded reason, and respond to complaints with a specific support route. Do not pressure someone to change a rating before helping them.
Five checks before your first live requests
- Empty state: confirm no fabricated, demonstration or unrelated reviews appear on a product with no feedback.
- Display: inspect phone and desktop layouts. Check that the widget does not obscure size selectors or purchase controls and that each rating belongs to the correct product.
- Timing: use the app's supported preview or test tools to inspect the message and schedule. Keep test content out of live ratings and do not count a test as customer evidence.
- Languages: check the storefront widget, request email and support route in every language your store offers. Confirm whether any translation feature needs a paid plan.
- Ownership: decide who checks reviews, handles complaints and updates incorrect garment details. Record unresolved issues before enabling automatic requests.
Save your check date, device, language, expected behavior and actual outcome. These checks assess setup; they do not prove an increase in sales or a reduction in returns.
Will Judge.me put review stars in Google?
A storefront rating, a Google Search product rich result and a Google Shopping Product Ratings feed are separate things. Installing a widget does not guarantee any of them will appear in Google. Google's structured-data guidelines explicitly state that correct markup does not guarantee a rich result.
Review Google's product snippet requirements for eligible product pages. Keep markup consistent with visible, genuine feedback and test the page. Do not add invented aggregate ratings. Review tools also do not guarantee higher rankings or discovery in AI answers.
Build the store, then learn from real orders
Follow the beginner clothing-store guide for the full launch sequence. If ready, start your Shopify trial and review the current terms. Evaluate Trendsi's account options against your product and destination requirements. Add reviews when there is real feedback to display, and use it to correct product details and support problems.
Judge.me questions for new clothing stores
Can I launch a clothing store without customer reviews?
Yes. A new store may have no customer reviews yet. Provide accurate garment details, measurement charts, shipping and returns information and a working contact route. Do not invent testimonials or ratings.
Is Judge.me free on Shopify?
On 8 October 2026, the official listing shows a Forever Free plan and Awesome at US$15 per month. Check current features and approval terms. Shopify and store operating costs remain separate.
When should a clothing store request a review?
Allow the customer to receive and try the garment before asking about it. Check the available order trigger, tracking data and delay. Fulfillment alone does not establish delivery.
Are spreadsheet-imported reviews verified in Judge.me?
Judge.me says spreadsheet imports are not marked verified. Other supported collection or migration methods have their own verification requirements. Preserve the original source and correct product association.
Does installing Judge.me guarantee Google review stars or better rankings?
No. A storefront widget is separate from Google's search and Shopping features. Google does not guarantee rich-result display even with correct structured data, and an app does not guarantee higher rankings.
Should I hide reviews because they have a low rating?
Our recommendation is to publish valid feedback regardless of rating and respond with a useful support route. Handle spam, unrelated content or private information under a consistent moderation process with a recorded reason.
